Armies list
This is the complete list of all of the armies you can play as in Warhammer 40K. Read each description carefully before choosing your army. If you want pictures for a certain army, just pm me and I will pm you a lot of pics.
Chaos Space Marines
Chaos Space Marines are merciless reavers, intent upon slaughter and pillage. For ten thousand years, those who were once the Emperor's greatest defenders have also been the direst threat to his domains. From shadowy strongholds the superhuman soldiers of Traitor Legions and Renegade warbands wage constant and bloody battle against the Imperium.
Dark Eldar
The cruel, twisted Dark Eldar are piaratical raiders who strike without warning, killing or enslaving all who stand in their way.
Eldar
The Eldar craftworlds – massive drifting starships that are home to the last survivors of a race that once ruled the galaxy – are scattered across the stars. Now the Eldar teeter upon the precipice of annihilation and must battle constantly against the other races of the galaxy, even resorting to piracy in their fight to avoid extinction.
Imperial Guard
The Imperium of Man is beset in all quarters by perfidious traitors from within, savage aliens from without, and Warp-spawned fiends from beyond. Across countless warzones, the warriors of the Imperial Guard form the staunch backbone of the desperate war to hold back the relentless tides of the Imperium's enemies.
Necron
The skeletal warriors of the Necron race have lain dormant in their stasis-tombs for millions of years. Now, ancient portents are realised and a horror from the darkest depths of pre-history awakes...
Orks
Barbaric and savage, the Orks infest the galaxy from end to end. From the lowliest Ork Boy to the mightiest Warboss, all Orks live for the moment when they can charge headlong into battle, screaming deafening war cries and firing volleys from their crude but effective guns. It is only a matter of time before the Orks unite once and for all to drown the stars in a torrent of mindless violence.
Space Marines
The Space Marines of the Adeptus Astartes are Humanity's ultimate warriors, dedicated to the defence of the Emperor and the Imperium of Man. They are barely human at all, but superhuman, having been made superior, in all respects, to a normal man by a harsh regime of genetic modification, psycho-conditioning and rigorous training.
Tau Empire
A young and ambitious race, united in their purpose, the Tau Empire seek to bring enlightenment and unity to those who join them.
While the races of the galaxy tear one another apart, the Tau grow stronger and stronger. On the Eastern Fringe, far from the power of Terra, world after world has fallen to their dynamic advance. At the forefront of this rapid expansion are the warriors of the Fire Caste. Unfettered by Mankind's superstition and fear of technology, the Fire Warriors go into battle carrying weapons of immense power, encased in battlesuits that can withstand the fiercest of attacks.
Led by the mysterious Ethereals and accompanied by alien allies whose cultures have been subsumed into their empire, the Tau believe that the stars themselves will be reforged in the cause of the Greater Good.
Tyranids
The Tyranids are the most rapidly evolving race in the galaxy, super-predators destined to hunt all others to extinction.
From the cold darkness of the void comes a race of ravenous aliens, a numberless horde governed only by the instincts to hunt, kill and feed. Each Tyranid is a living weapon, perfectly adapted to its designated function, but each creature is no more than a single cell in a galactic entity governed by a monstrous Hive Mind. As the Tyranid hive fleets drift through space they strip all life from the worlds in their path, leaving nothing but scoured rock in their wake.
Witch Hunters
The Witch Hunters of the Ordo Hereticus are perhaps the most sinister of all Inquisitors as the threats they must face lurk not in the depths of space or the Warp, but amongst the everyday citizenry of the Imperium; the witch, the mutant, the heretic and the fallen cleric.
Daemonhunters
The greatest threat to the Imperium of Man is, and has always been, the followers of Chaos and the foul daemons of the Warp. The Inquisitors of the Ordo Malleus, the Daemonhunters, are at war with forces too terrible to comprehend and, together with the holy warriors of the Grey Knights, they must take the light of the Emperor into the darkness. The threat of the daemonic is so great that only these heroic warriors have the necessary skills and knowledge to stand against such diabolical foes.
